Asus ROG Front Base Panel Helps You Control Your PC

Asus is displaying a number of new products at the CES 2014 convention, among which is the new ROG Front Base. The ROG Front Base is an expansion device that can be housed in two 5.25" optical drive bays, allowing control over a number of the computer's functions.

The unit has a 4" display and can be used to monitor the PC's hardware, as well as control various aspects of it. Aboard it, users will find a single USB 2.0 port as well as a pair of HD audio jacks. The unit can be used with motherboards equipped with a SupremeFX sound card, and will give access to five EQ settings using the 'Quick EQ Switch.' The USB port is a quick-charging port.

In addition, the unit can monitor system clock speeds, temperatures, and fan speeds. It also features an 'Escape Mode' button, which will allow users to mute the system sound, as well as hide the gaming screen, or presumably other things, and go to the Windows Desktop.

The ROG Front Panel is compatible with all ROG Maximus VI motherboards, as well as the new Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard.

There was no word on when Asus will be bringing the ROG Front Panel to market, or what it would cost – stay tuned!
