'Batman: Akrham Knight' Gets Final DLC Pack: 'Season of Infamy'

Rocksteady and WB Games released what is presumed to be the final DLC content pack for Batman: Arkham Knight. The new adventure, Season of Infamy, gives Batman several new missions to complete in addition to several aesthetic goodies including the Batman: Arkham Asylum Batmobile and the 2008 Christopher Nolan Batman movie Batsuit.

The new DLC adventure pits Batman against the likes of Ra’s al Ghul, The Mad Hatter and Mr. Freeze -- all characters that were previously featured in the Arkham franchise. The new story brings back these staple villains for one final showdown on the streets of Gotham City.

The only thing that the new DLC may not be able to bring back are the troves of dissatisfied PC gamers that took WB Games up on its offer of a refund. Batman: Arkham Knight had possibly one of the worst game launches in recent history, to the point where the game was removed from store shelves after launch and refunds were offered after its lackluster rerelease.

WB Games attempted to quell the rage many Batman fans felt from the blunder, offering the entire Batman: Arkham series to customers that purchased (or intended to purchase) Batman: Arkham Knight. This compensatory package included Game of the Year editions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, along with a copy of Arkham Origins and its expansion, Arkham Origins Blackgate. These titles are available now for die-hard fans that held onto the game despite the performance issues.

The new DLC seems to be currently only available to Season Pass customers, but it should make its way to the Steam store for individual purchase in the following weeks. The Season of Infamy has only just begun, but it is possible that Batman: Arkham Knight will live in infamy for its disastrous PC launch.

"Batman: Arkham Knight will live in infamy for its disastrous PC launch".
I think that's true. I only wish developers would see the reasons, and learn from it to make changes in how they do business. I am not hopeful though.

This comments section shows how was how little interest Batman holds for the PC gaming community now.

It is hard to break such a successful franchise. But WB Games managed to do it...

I was so amped when this game was first coming out. The presentation and production value looked stellar. Then I realized the production value for the PC version wasn't so stellar. My interest has pretty much been deflated and I'm off playing Battlefront for a while.

Rocksteady / WB, how about giving us an HD texture pack and some updated graphics to show you're still trying to take PC gamers serious?

  • I own all of them for PC except this one. I decided to skip it after akrham origins was basically unplayable for me for at least two months until they released a path to prevent batman falling through the collision detection to his death in a lot of the beginning map of that game.

If the issues plaguing this game are anything close, I will not be touching it until maybe the definitive patch is released and it is on a sale (which given that it supposedly has not sold much, might not happen too often).
