Battlefield 4 Played in 4K With Four OC GTX Titans

A new video has been posted on YouTube, showing some gameplay of the Battlefield 4 Open Beta in a (higher than) 4K resolution. The resolution by which it is played is 4800 x 2560, which is achieved by using three 30" 2560 x 1600 monitors in a portrait Nvidia Surround setup. Do the math -- that's 12.3 megapixels!

To bring enough juice to the displays, a total of four EVGA's GTX Titan SC's have been used in conjunction with an i7-3970X clocked to 4.8 GHz, as well as 32 GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 MHz memory. All of the in-game graphics settings have been maxed out, including the Anti-Aliasing settings. According to the description of the video, a total of 5.1 GB of graphics memory was used.

The recording itself wasn't done at the 4800 x 2560 resolution, but rather at the 4K resolution (4096 x 2160). On YouTube, it can be viewed in its 'Original' quality, though beware, you'll need a hefty Internet connection and system to be able to play it, not to mention that you won't be able to see the full beauty of it without a 4K monitor.

According to comments, he gets solid 60 fps. Any choppiness comes from editing and it being shown at 24 fps. I just wanted to see if my internet connection could display the video in its original format continuously. Yay for me. I hope he practices on his fps skills, and he makes his money back for the rig from youtube. ;)

To me, this is like purchasing a Ferrari. Hopefully he has enough money to pay for the electric bill (maintenance and repairs for the Ferrari) otherwise what a shame. Nice rig though! I would definitely want to show it off.

this game is more cpu bound then gpu bound. i doubt he got any more performance out of 4 titans then he would have got out of 2.

You guys can downvote my previous comment all you want, but look at it. It's a damn console port. The trees textures look like crap, the handrails and reflections and wall textures look like crap as well as most of the art and design on the inside of the buildings. wooo fn hooo you can run it a 4k: crap textures still look like crap at higher res.

I couldn't be more unimpressed for a game that is so GPU demanding.

Imho this isn't doing anything new or exciting and it looks the SAME (regardless of the res).

$10k computer to play console games at 4k. lol. Sounds like a great idea. We should all do it. (not really)
