Sapphire Unveils Edge-HD3 Mini PC

The Edge HD-3 integrates AMD's 1.65 GHz E450 Zacate APU and consumes only 30 watts under load.

About the size of an average paperback book, Sapphire says that the PC is powerful enough to serve as a fully featured PC for home, casual gaming, education or business. Included in the package are 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 320GB hard drive and built in wireless connectivity as well as high speed LAN port, HDMI, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports. The E450 processor includes a Radeon HD 6320 (508 / 600 MHz) graphics core.

There was no information about pricing, but we expect retail prices to be in close range to the previous, Atom-based HD2 model, which currently sells for about $550 with Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP preinstalled.

Cost is a little high IMO, but the form factor makes it very tempting though.

Nice! Interesting for a pre-built HTPC.The price is high but the size of this device makes up for it.

Just out of intrest, why would you say that? I'm guessing the Edge HD-3 will be around $600 and the x51 is just a little more expensive, but the x51 is MUCH more powerful. The price/performance ratio will be much better for the x51.

Besides I'm sure they are aimed at completely different markets.

    I'm just saying ;)

You smoking something? Why would you want to plug your phone in all the time to watch movies on your TV? What will the rest of your family do when you are not home...
