Nexus 7 Pre-orders Now Shipping in Waves to UK and Canada

Google's Nexus 7 tablet started shipping late last week for U.S. customers. Now, it looks like our neighbors in the Great White North and our cousins across the pond are getting theirs too.

Google has confirmed that all US and Australian preorders are scheduled to ship by July 17th, while UK and Canadian preorders have also begun shipping in waves.

"Customers who received their confirmation email on Friday, July 13 can expect delivery on Tuesday, July 17," the company said via its support pages. "Once your order has shipped you'll receive a confirmation email and tracking number. You'll be able to track your shipment with this tracking number as soon as it has been activated, which may take up to one business day after the email with your tracking number has been sent to you."

The Nexus 7 was announced in early June at Google's Google I/O developer conference. The product of a collaboration with Asus, the tablet boasts a 7-inch display, Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3, NFC technology, 1 GB of RAM, Bluetooth, a 1280 x 800 HD IPS back-lit display, and a 1.2MP camera. Priced at £199, the device is pipped as prime competition for Amazon's Kindle Fire. Many retailers have already sold out of the device.
