NoFan's Fanless CR-80EH Looks Like a Coffee Filter

NoFan, a computer company that builds components as well as computers that have -- you guessed it -- no fans, seems to be working on a new fanless CPU cooler. This model, known as the CR-80EH, will be smaller than previous models, and is designed to handle CPUs with TDPs of up to 80 W.

The cooler features the company's typical round design and is made of many copper strands. It measures 133 mm high and 155 mm wide. Additionally, weighing only 300 grams, it should also fit in more enclosures than its older bigger brother.

The unit will be available with a street price of $60.

Complete nonsense. Am I the only one old enough to remember the old "pin fin" designs from the '90s?

Adding vertical aluminum fins would even make this more effective than just copper alone.

A white light at the center will make it will look like the reactor in the heart of the iron man ;p

Seems like this would work best in a configuration where the motherboard is laying flat. With no fan to guide the heat away from the fins the natural progression would be for it to rise. In a configuration where the board is mounting vertically, like most towers, wouldn't the top fins naturally remain hotter as the heat from the bottom fins dissipate upwards via natural air flow? Seems like you want your chimney to go up and out, not sideways~

I second Jimbo. Sandia Cooler, please! Would be perfect for a noiseless low-profile HTPC.

No way that thing can dissipate 80 watts unless your case was very well ventilated. Also, can you actually buy sandia coolers? I wonder if they're any good.
