Zotac Unveils Five New GeForce GTX 980 Ti Cards At Computex

Just one day ahead of Computex 2015, Zotac introduced five new graphics cards based on Nvidia's GeForce GTX 980 Ti "Maxwell" GPU. These include a model sporting a new EKO fan and an "aggressive" thermal design, as well as a factory-overclocked model chilled by Zotac's IceStorm cooling system.

For starters, we have the Zotac GTX 980 Ti that has a base clock of 1000 MHz and a boost speed of 1076 MHz. Other specs include 6 GB of GDDR5 memory, a 384-bit memory bus, a memory clock of 7010 MHz and a blower to keep the GPU nice and cool. There are also three DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, one HDMI and one Dual-link DVI port.

Next we have the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! model. This card has a core speed of 1051 MHz and a boost speed of 1140 MHz. It's also overclocked in the factory and chilled by the company's IceStorm cooling system. Like the previous card, this model provides one dual-link DVI port, an HDMI port, three DisplayPort 1.2 connectors and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory.

The third card in Zotac's new batch is the GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme. This card has a core clock of 1253 MHz and a boost speed of 1355 MHz. Other ingredients include LED illumination, EKO fans, IceStorm-based cooling, POWER BOOST, Carbon ExoArmor, 6 GB of GDDR5 memory and a memory clock of 7210 MHz, the highest of Zotac's batch of GTX 980 Ti cards.

The fourth card is the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti ArcticStorm, which has a core clock of 1025 MHz and a boost speed of 1114 MHz. According to the company, this card is for enthusiasts and features the ArcticStorm hybrid cooling system that combines air cooling with liquid cooling. The card also comes packed with an all-copper waterblock, three 90 mm fans, Carbon ExoArmor and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory.

"One of the biggest enhancements to the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti series is the EKO FAN, designed to improve air flow and static pressure," the company explained in a press release. "The uniquely designed dual-blade EKO FAN increases airflow by up to 30 percent compared to traditional fan designs. Independent mini blades beneath the outer fan increase the surface area that directly benefits from the fan's airflow, and drive concentrated airflow downwards."

The specs of all four show that system builders will need a 600 W power supply in order to use these cards, as they consume 250 W of power save for the AMP! Extreme, which consumes 258 W. The power requirements also list 6-pin and 8-pin PCI Express power connectors, although the AMP! Extreme lists dual 8-pin PCI Express power connectors.

In addition to these four cards, Zotac also announced an "Omega" version but did not produce any specifications as of press time. However, the company indicated that it uses an EKO FAN and the company's POWER BOOST tech for stabilizing performance. The company also indicated that the Omega version has an "aggressive" thermal design that helps to churn out more speed.

Is the AMP Extreme a 3 slot card? It looks huge and sounds awesome.
My real question is where are the articles about AMD? Have they not made an appearance?

Well that's a shame. Be nice to see the competition at the same time as the 980ti launch. Gives Nvidia some free time to sell a heap of cards before anyone knows if AMD are worth the wait.
