CES 2007: LG puts "aggressive" sticker on 71" plasma TV
Las Vegas (NV) - LG said that it has lowered the price of its flagship 1080p TV - a 71" plasma unit.
According to the company, the TV "has been repositioned at an aggressive new suggested retail price." However, agreeing with the term "aggressive" really depends on your view. The TV was introduced in 2006 for around $70,000 and can now be purchased for $15,000.
The 71PY1M is still expensive when compared to your average flat screen TV, but it is a relative bargain when compared to the current $20,000 65" plasma TVs and especially to the $70,000 103" plasma TV currently offered by Panasonic.
