Computex 2007: Coolers and Power Supplies

Six-Rail 1,200 W PSU By Silverstone

Silverstone also manufactures power supply units. The high end product is the 1,200 W model of the Zeus series. Unfortunately there is only one 80 mm fan, which might have to work intensively under load. This PSU has six 12 V rails that offer 95 A split across the six rails. The price will be about $400, but this PSU will not be available until August.

Tagan PSUs Now Reach Up To 1,300 W

Tagan showed us a full range of power supply units. The TurboJet series is led by the TG-1300, which has a power output of up to 1,300 W, complies to current ATX standards (8-pin PCI Express connectors), and has an efficiency over 80%. The fan is controlled by Tagan Silence Control Technology (TSCT), which ensures that the 80 mm fan will never produce more than 30 dB(A) of noise. This new model will be available worldwide after Computex; the price should be around $350 in the US and roughly 350 Euros in Europe.

Thermaltake: 2,000 W Engineering Sample

At the Thermaltake booth we also saw a very powerful PSU: a 2000 W power supply, which is still only an engineering sample.
