HP's New dv2, dv3 and Mini 2140 Notebooks

HP was showcasing its newly announced Pavilion dv2, Pavilion dv3 and Mini 2140 notebook at CES this week. 

The Pavilion dv2 is a light weight notebook that features an AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 1.6 GHz processor, a 12.1-inch WXGA LED display, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3410 graphics and up to 4 GB of DDR2 memory.  The notebook weighs just 3.8-pounds and comes with a webcam, optional Blu-ray drive and Windows Vista.  It will be available in April 2009 with a starting price of $699.

The Pavilion dv3 is a bit bigger than the dv2, but it features a 13.3-inch WXGA LED display, an AMD Althon or Turion X2 processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics and supports up to 8 GB of DDR2 memory.   The system has a weight starting at 3.825-pounds and is currently available, starting at $799.

Also on display was the new Mini 2140 notebook, which is targeted for business professionals.  The Mini 2140 features an intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor, up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory, a 10.1-inch LED display, HP 3D DriveGuard shock protection technology and Intel GMA 950 graphics.  The system's weight starts at 2.6-pounds and is available later this month, starting for $499.

I don't think HP understands what a netbook is and the difference between it and an compact laptop.

The only notebook from HP that is considered a netbook is the Mini series, Mini on the business side and Mini-note on the consumer side.
DV2 and DV3 is not considered netbooks by other then people not knowing better.
