EVGA Shows GeForce GTX 480, 470 Boxes Too
Check out the threads (or cardboard) that the upcoming Nvidia Fermi GPUs will be wearing on retail EVGA boxes when they launch later this month.
Yesterday we showed you what Palit's GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 packaging looks like. Now we present another card maker's interpretation of what the boxes should look like.
Tom's reader Gin Fushicho pointed us toward EVGA's own box designs for the very same Nvidia GPUs with the same memory configuration. Check them out below.

box art is cool and all but how about a price? If they have the art they should also be close to announcing a price right? I mean we have to know how much money to bring to boston dont we?
Wow! What font is that?
who cares about the box, I want what's inside!
A box.. WOW!!
This is nicer than Palit's box art, but still pretty conservative - as is often the case with EVGA, but you might expect a facelift when a new generation GPU arrives...
It looks like this was done in 5 minutes, and EVGA is way too big IMO
to much hype going on
Who cares about the box, it gets recycled any how & won't do anything for your computer! Drop the price by $25 to 100 & axe the marketing team.
I want to see these boxarts benchmarked against ati 5000 series boxarts!!!

That made me chuckle pretty good.
Boxes look fine and dandy. Looking forward to seeing some thorough reviews and direct comparisons on benchmarks.

Evga video card is okay. The box looks like it was done by a 8 year old. Maybe those kids from the E-trade commercial can work for evga.
still kinda weird neither boxes have DX11 on them as a selling point.

Huge! Like the price tag is gonna be.
DX11 is not a breakthrough technology. In fact only few games even getting the full benefit of it.
I don't see why people so concern about DX11 when most of the game they play now aren't even getting the full effect.

It would be colored Rainbow in that case. ;p
speaking of evga, i wonder how long it will take for them to jump ship and make radeon based cards after this pickle nvidia has put them in.

They have DX11 I'm pretty sure...NV would be dropping the ball beyond belief if it didn't. They must be embarrassed, and trying to downplay the whole "7 months late to the table" thing.
Yes, but can the box play Crysis?
Once again the box art is pushing 3d vision, PhysX, CUDA, and SLI but nothing about performance... Not a good sign, but we shall see soon enough.

+1 To benching the boxarts. What should we test though? Rigidity, flammability, gloss factor, geek factor displayability, texture and weight all come to mind... Any more? Maybe even a boxart hierarchy? Boxart rebranding!!
Can't wait to see how well it will perform.
How hot does it get?
Yes yes, box art is nifty... But what about the price?...
Look how nice our box is....How sad. Is it just me, or does Nvidia seem desperate to everybody else?
This late in the game and no benchmarks? I am a little disappointed and concerned that they are focusing on marketing / packaging without any substance if they are so close for sale.
Intel allowed benchmarking releases of its upcoming processor (also announced at GDC)... and all we have of these new cards is synthetic benchmarks developed by Nvidia to showcase what they designed their card to do versus what ATI did not design their card to do.
I am building a new high end system, once the core i7 980X & Asus Rampage III Extreme go retail... but without substantial benchmarking, I'll likely settle for an ATI card (although I've always preferred Nvidia). It seems as though their card under performs and they want to focus on potentials rather than real-world. Fine if that is the case, just allow benchmark sites to release results and let us know... rather than hide the substance and show us cardboard packaging that will go in the trash after install.
"then ill have to do the same because my ass is a higher end model and will out perform yours."
Really? Let's see some benchmarks before you talk big. :-D
Wonder what the performance will be like. I'm not as interested in the box art.
I hope these boxes have good Linux driver support. That's what I always hate about ATI boxes.

My ass actually outputs 4 pounds of product a day, in 3 different flavors. The burst rate is usually 3 ounces a second, with a high as large as 12 if the product is "less substantial".
more box art..still nothing from inside the box yet...
