Videoconferencing with MSN Messenger is just as straightforward. You click on the camera in the toolbar at the top of your correspondent's window. You should first ensure that your correspondent is properly equipped. If this is the first time you have used a Webcam, a configuration wizard will run to set the parameters for sound and image in a few tables. This done, an invitation is sent to the contact who can accept or refuse. If they accept, their picture will appear in the top right corner a few moments after initialization, and yours will appear bottom right. By default, the videos are in minimum format. You can enlarge the window by right-clicking with the mouse and selecting one of the three sizes available: small, medium or large, depending on transmission quality. The image should have a certain fluidity to be readable.

Sound is processed on a different channel. MSN Messenger can be used for vocal conferencing without having to have a camera. So for sending or receiving vocals, you have to validate this option in the toolbar. As for video, the first time you use it, a wizard helps you. To prevent any Larsen effect from the Webcam's integrated microphone, it is advisable to get your sound through headphones.
