Virgin Mobile UK Gets The Nexus 4

Google's Nexus 4 has been out for months, but it isn't getting any easier to buy. However, if you're on Virgin Mobile and willing to drop some cash to obtain one, you're in luck. The carrier this week announced that it would be selling the Nexus 4.

Developed in collaboration with LG (a first for the South Korean company), the Nexus 4 packs a 4.7-inch 1280x768 IPS display (320 ppi), Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB of storage, an 8-megapixel camera (1.3-megapixel camera up front), a 2,100mAh Li-Polymer battery, NFC, and Android 4.2. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't have support for 4G LTE, nor does it allow for external storage via MicroSD.

For a £31-per-month contract, you can get the phone for free. This will give you 200 minutes, 500 texts, and 500MB of data. After that, the plans vary. For example, the £34-per-month contract will give you unlimited minutes to landlines, 2500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data. However, you'll also have to pay £99 for the phone up front. The £44-per-month contract will give you unlimited minutes to landlines, 2500 minutes, 500 mins to 0800 0845 0870 0808 numbers, unlimited texts, unlimited data and the phone is free.

Of course, you'll have to decide whether you want to get the phone now and sign a two-year contract or wait (for who knows how long) and get one contract-free from Google.

    Dear Google:

Ahem... STOP GIVING THE NEXUS 4 STOCK TO THE S*DDING CARRIERS AND PUT THEM ON YOUR F**CKING PLAY STORE WHERE EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR THEM.
    Sincerely,

    Still waiting for mine.

I have to say it's probably the first and last time I'll bother trying to buy a Google product. The whole experience is shockingly poor and amateur.

That plan sucks! T-mobile: $30/mo for unlimited text and 5GB data but only 100 minutes per month. Using data (voip), you don't really need minutes.

sliemThat plan sucks! T-mobile: $30/mo for unlimited text and 5GB data but only 100 minutes per month. Using data (voip), you don't really need minutes.you didnt read the next sentence did you? the sucky plan gets you the phone free. the £34 plan gets you MUCH more and the phone for £99.

but that £31 plan is quite a bit suckier than the $35 contractless plan here in USA. Itll be interesting to see how VM will offer the phone in USA if they ever decide to. Would it be no contract still or will they start doing contracts?
