Microsoft Gears Up For 'Halo 5'

With the release of Halo 5 inching ever closer, the gaming world is getting ready for Microsoft's AAA shooter. Not only is Microsoft releasing a limited edition Xbox One, but Astro has reskinned its Astro A40+MixAmp M80 headset with a Halo 5 theme.

The limited edition 1 TB Xbox One features a redesigned outer case with a Halo 5 theme. The general size, shape and basically everything else remains the same as the ordinary Xbox One. Microsoft did change the vents on the top of the system to give it a more unique look, the overall color scheme is different, and some blue LED lights were placed around the disc tray and other areas. The system is programed to make custom Halo-inspired sound effects when used.

The controller sees similar changes, with some new blue LED lights on the front of the controller, and Microsoft used a similar gray color scheme.

Being the Halo 5 Xbox One console, naturally this system comes bundled with the Halo 5: Guardians game. It also includes essentially all extra Halo 5 content that has been announced to date, and some extra Halo-related content.

To help get you geared up for playing Halo 5, Astro has also announced a Halo 5-themed headset. The headset is identical to the current Astro A40+MixAmp M80 wireless headset, but with a Halo 5 inspired theme. The headset is colored in similar shades of black and dark grey, with blue highlights.

The limited edition Xbox One is available for pre-order now, but neither product will be available for the next few months. The Halo 5 Xbox One has an MSRP of $499.99 and is expected to ship on October 27, the same date that Halo 5 is released. The Astro headset will be available sometime in September.

    Typo fixed, good work
Also I've been secretly waiting for Microsoft to release this exact console; this is the one that I will probably buy. As a long time fan of Halo titles (literally every one since I played CE in 2002 and read almost all of the extended fiction), I have been waiting for this combo since the Xbox One release. Not mention the very strong games lineup for late 2015/early 2016 with Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Forza Motorsport 6, Tomb Raider 2, and some new IP, it looks like my rig will have a good long break. $500 is a bit steep, but you can't put a price on what you love!

This is a lot nicer looking than I expected. I'm not a super big fan but I'd still consider this.
