The X-240, which Logitech will be displaying at the Consumer Electronics Show next week, is a multimedia speaker system for PC and Mac computers that comes equipped with a universal docking cradle that is compatible with several different mobile devices, including iPods, cell phones, and PDAs.
When plugged into the included cradle, the device can be charged and, depending on the device, will sync with the computer to allow music and file transfers, without the need for an additional USB or AC power connection.
The cradle also stows away when not in use, with specialized trays for the Zune and iPod. The speakers themselves include high-excursion satellite drivers, a down-firing subwoofer, and a master volume control and headphone jack.
The X-420 system currently has a US release date of April 2007 and an expected retail price of $50.
