Employees at ASML still don't know whether they will lose their jobs, some seven weeks after the Dutch chip equipment maker announced plans to cut 1,700 management roles alongside record full-year revenue of €32.7 billion. The cuts target management positions in ASML's technology and IT departments, with 1,400 roles going in the Netherlands and 300 in the United States, representing roughly 4% of the company's global workforce.

The title had me worried then it turns out, managerial role is the one impacted. Those engineers need more fellow peer not more managers. If fired managerial role represent 7% of work force, what's manager to engineer ratio asml currently have? For engineering company, my guess is too high.

Can managers and hire engineers... im all for it. If they are like any of the union managers ive worked with in the past, they drive down production while raising costs. Ever sit through a workshop about how to game the rules to do the least work possible? Intellectually I get the theory behind unions, but in practice ive never seen them operate as anything but a cancer on society.

We will be seeing a lot more of this as the fraud of ai collapses. Healthy industries don't layoff workers.
