AT&T has expanded its LTE network to six more markets, subsequently expanding its service's reach to 150 million consumers.
The carrier said three U.S. markets -- Albuquerque, N.M., Reading, Penn., and Salt Lake City -- can now access its LTE network. Three markets in Puerto Rico -- Guayama, San German-Cabo Rojo, and Yauco -- have also been added to AT&T's LTE network.
With the aforementioned additions, AT&T's network now reaches 109 markets. However, by October 18, the firm's main competitor Verizon boasted 417 LTE markets in the U.S., offering its service to 250 million consumers. The latter figure has since risen to 441 markets in the United States.
AT&T had previously announced its plan to upgrade its wireless networks through investment equaling $14 billion. Despite its efforts, though, it was recently named the worst carrier in the U.S. for the second consecutive year.
