Samsung's Massive Galaxy Note 8.0 Spotted in the Wild

Earlier this week, we were afforded our first glimpse of Samsung's upcoming Note 8.0, an 8-inch version of its hugely successful 5+-inch Galaxy Note. However, while that picture was just a photo of a photo, this latest image gives us a better idea of how the Note 8.0 will look in real life. We first got word that Samsung could be prepping an 8-inch version of its Galaxy Note phablet last week. The idea was that this device would go head-to-head with Apple's recently released iPad Mini, which measures in at 7.9 inches in size.

Samsung on Monday confirmed its plans to launch the Note 8.0. On Tuesday, we saw our first picture of the device. Today brings us another image. This one comes courtesy of Italian site dday.it. Dday says they don't know whether the tablet in the photo is the final model or a prototype but we'll find out for sure in just a few weeks' time, when MWC kicks off in Barcelona. In the meantime, check out it out for yourself. Click through to dday.it for the full gallery.

In case your memory needs jogging, rumored specs for this device include an 8-inch 1280 x 800 TFT (Super Clear LCD) display, a 5MP camera mounted on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, and a 4600 mAh battery. It's also said to pack 2 GB or RAM, and either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot will expand storage up to an additional 32 GB. On the connectivity front, the 8-inch Galaxy Note will offer Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/b/n and A-GPS. GSM network coverage will include EDGE (850/900/1800/1900) HSPA+21.1 Mbps, and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps (850/900/1900/2100). The operating system of choice will be Google's Android 4.2 "Jelly Bean".
