Ascend Mate Unveiled, Boasts World's Largest Phone Screen

Huawei has officially unveiled its 6.1-inch phablet in the form of the tablet/smartphone hybrid Ascend Mate.

The 6.1-inch 720p screen, claimed to be the world's largest screen found on a phone, accounts for around 73 percent of the front of the smartphone, which is powered by a 4050 mAh battery. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer integrated Magic Touch, which allows users to utilize the device with gloves.

Pop up windows that float over a current app is also featured, as is 'Quick Power Control'; Huawei claims it can decrease 10 percent of power through smart connection management.

Powered by Huawei's Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, the Ascend Mate, which was showcased by an executive prior to the official unveiling during CES 2013, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

As well as an 8-megapixel camera, the battery is said to last two days on a single charge due to power management (and sheer size).

Although price details remain unclear, Huawei confirmed a worldwide launch for the Ascend Mate during March, 2013.
