Origin PC said on Monday that its EON15-S and EON17-S laptops now feature the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 680M graphics card as an option. Based on Nvidia's Kepler architecture, the new GPU means awesome PC gaming on the go without nuking the battery charge thanks to Nvidia's built-in Optimus Technology.
According to Origin, the new GPU takes advantage of the company's "professional GPU overclocking." The chip also comes packed with 1344 Nvidia CUDA cores and is accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory. And a previously stated, Optimus support automatically optimizes battery life while maintaining the outstanding graphics performance, whether customers watching a movie, surfing the web or playing a game.
The EON15-S and EON17-S are Origin PC's 15-inch and 17-inch gaming laptops. They start at $1561 and $1592 respectively and offer a large array of options like the 3rd generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, up to 32 GB of dual channel DDR3 1333 Mhz memory, up to 7.1 HD Audio with THX TruStudio support with ONKYO speaker system, and more.
Nvidia officially revealed the GeForce GTX 680 GPU back in March based on the new Kepler architecture. "The architecture is the basis not just for a single chip but a family of chips that serves a whole spectrum of systems, from high performance PCs to wafer thin notebooks, from medical workstations to supercomputers. It is the blueprint for every Nvidia GPU for the next two years," the company said in a blog.
