ATP has announced the arrival of two new industrial grade SSDs, which will be known as the mSATA and SlimSATA Embedded Modules. Their names also indicate their form factors, which clearly will be small.
Both of the units will come in two variants – either with MLC or SLC flash. For these variants the read and write speeds vary, as well as the capacity ranges. Both of the mSATA and SlimSATA MLC versions come in capacities ranging from 8 GB to 128 GB, and will feature read and write speeds of up to 250 MB/s and 85 MB/s, respectively. They also have an endurance of up to 76.8 TBW (Terabytes Written).
The SLC versions, though, will endure a lot longer. The mSATA Embedded Module will read at up to 170 MB/s, write at up to 140 MB/s, and come in capacities ranging from 4 GB to 64 GB. Endurance is rated at a maximum of 1280 Terabytes written. On to the SlimSATA SLC variant, it'll read and write at up to 80 MB/s and 65 MB/s, respectively, come in capacities ranging from 2 GB to 32 GB, and endure up to 640 TB written.
All of the devices feature MTBF's (Mean Time Between Failure) of two million hours, and run over the SATA2 (3 Gb/s) interface. They also come with power protection features, as well as support for full-disk encryption using up to 256-bit AES encryption algorithms.

"Even though other suppliers are phasing out these solutions regardless of customers' long product life cycle needs, ATP reaffirms its position to continue its strong support on these products so customers can rest assure that they will be properly support[ed] for years to come."
The units will be on show at the Scandinavian Electronics Event 2014 in Stockholm.
