Biostar Stays In The GPU Game With Geforce 750Ti Gaming/OC Graphics Card

Biostar is stepping up in the world of GPU OEMs with the Biostar Geforce 750Ti GAMING/OC.

Although GPUs from Biostar are not very common, Biostar has been making them for several years now. The cards tend to stay in the low-end segment but occasionally move in to the mid-range. This card, which features an Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti chip, falls somewhere in between.

The GPU features a minor factory overclock that raises the default base clock of 1020 MHz to 1059 MHz, and the boost clock from 1085 MHz to 1137 MHz. The RAM speed has not changed from the stock settings set by Nvidia.

The cooler features a dual-fan design. It has two shades of gray for the color scheme that oddly enough doesn't match the Biostar Gaming Z97X or Gaming Z97W motherboards, but they do share a red cross for an emblem.

For connectivity, Biostar opted for dual-DVI connectors and a single HDMI connection. Included with the card is a DVI-to-VGA adapter, which will add legacy support for older displays, and an HDMI-to-mini-HDMI adapter. Other accessories include the typical driver CD, a quick setup guide, and a 6-pin PCIe power adapter.

The 6-pin PCIe power connection on this GPU is a non-standard feature for GTX 750Ti cards, as the GPU is fully capable of running off the 75 W provided by the motherboard. However, adding this to the card shows that Biostar wanted to give better overclocking abilities to this card.

With the cooler being larger than needed for a card with a 60 W TDP, and the ability to pull in up to 150 W (though you would be crazy to go that high), this card has a lot of overclocking potential.

The price and release date is currently unknown, but will likely arrive later this year.

Meh, year old GPU and no Displayport. 950 Ti will probably arrive soon anyway.

That is definitely one one of the best 750 Ti's I've seen. Nice job Biostar

Good gaming card, but wouldn't call it an OC card when you have the GTX 750 TI FTW from EVGA toping out at over 1270mhz.

@ Grog, yeah but there will be a price difference, GTX 950 TI will probably cost $150 while this will probably be around $100.

Different people have different priorities, if you game only once in a while you really do not need anything more than 750TI and you can put the savings towards something more important like SSD or say better Keyboard, mouse or monitor.

I have GTX 960, great card, but for me anything beyond is money thrown in the garbage.

I've bought a Biostar motherboards in the past. They were both disasters. Kind of don't expect their graphics cards to be much better.

@Larry I'm not saying the card is bad, but it's late to the game and, regarding performance, AMD has much better value in that price range. As for the price, there's no way it'll be $100, most 750 Ti's are $150 or more already, cheapest I'm seeing on Newegg right now is $119 after a $20 discount.
