Call of Duty 2: Big Red One now shipping

People wanting to experience World War II, without the real-life bloodshed, can now buy Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Players will fight along side the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division, also known as "The Big Red One". Missions take place around the world and players can even engage in online human versus human combat.

Player will get a chance to bond with their computerized brothers in arms in missions spanning across North Africia, Western Europe and Italy. Computerized teammates will gain better tactics and survivability as they survive battles and become more "experienced". In addition, Activision promises the enemy will have enhanced AI that will take advantage of cover more. Player can go online with either Xbox or Playstation and fight in 16 on 16 deathmatch or capture the flag battles.

The game is available on the Xbox, Playstation 2 and Nintendo GameCube for $50. Activision will also sell a Colector's Edition for $60.
