First Nokia Lumia Tablet Unveiled, Runs Windows RT
A new Windows 8.1 tablet with Lumia branding.
Nokia introduced us to a fistful of new phones on Monday but the company also introduced its first ever Lumia tablet. Dubbed the Lumia 2520, the tablet is a 10.1-inch device with a 1080p screen. Though it's the second 1080p device announced today (the other being the Lumia 1520), the 2520 is actually a Windows RT 8.1 device. Interesting, while Microsoft has dropped the 'RT' branding, Nokia still uses it in its blog post about the 2520.
Specs-wise, you're looking at a 10.1-inch 1080p full HD (1920×1080) AHIPS Capacitive Multi-Touch Display,The 2520 packs a quad-core Snapdragon 800, Gorilla Glass 2, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage (with micro SD up to 32 GB), a 6.7-megapixel camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC, LTE, WiFI, Windows RT 8.1, and an 8000 mAh battery.
The Lumia 2520 will be available in red, cyan, white and black and will launch in the USA, the UK and Finland first. Pricing for the US is $499 before tax. No word on pricing for markets outside the US or release dates, but we'll keep you posted.

I very much hope they release a cheaper wi-fi only model, though. Lots of people, myself included, have no need or desire to pay for another cell phone contract for a tablet when we can just tether if necessary. -

Microsoft dropped the RT branding on the Microsoft Surface 2, even though it runs Windows RT 8.1. The Windows ARM based OS is still called Windows RT (For the 8 equivalent) or Windows 8.1 RT.
Nokia is wise in informing it's customers that the OS is Windows 8.1 RT rather than Windows 8.1 that is based on x86 architecture because it serves not to mislead customers about what kind of software it can run.
And before this item... the Surface RT and Surface 2 were the last two remaining currently produced items on the market. (Well as of today, as the Surface 2 was just street dated today) -

captinchikin We seriously need to see more 8 or 8.1 tablets. My dream has always been to do AE in and Premiere on the go, and the Surface pro doesn't cut it with that kind of hardware.Reply -
