Although you may not notice it much while using the computer, it's very easy for your posture to become slouched, causing cause neck and eye strain. Philips new ErgoSensor technology maximizes user comfort and health by providing alerts if it detects improper posture. This is accomplished by an embedded sensor found where most webcams are kept. The sensor watches users viewing distance, posture, presence and whether they've been sitting at their screen for too long.
The new Philips 24-inch 1920 x 1080 Brilliance LCD Monitor is also TCO Edge certified, meaning “the product uses a minimum of 65% post-consumer-recycled plastics, is energy efficient, uses minimal hazardous materials, has 100% recyclable packaging and, amongst other requirements, is designed for easy recycling.” According to Philips, the monitor will also power off if the ErgoSensor does not detect the user in their seat, which results in some serious energy conservation.
The display also features an LED backlight, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time and base adjustments including pivot, height, swivel and tilt.
