Fall Extreme Gamer System Shootout Part 3: Alienware's ALX
3DMark 2005
3DMark 2003
We could not get 3DMark 2003 to run. It could simply be because the processor was overclocked too far, or it was not receiving the voltage it needed to operate at the extreme level the BIOS demanded. However, every other game test and 3DMark 2005 score proved that this machine was indeed a powerhouse, even at the lesser overclock we left the system at.
This was not the only system to have problems with 3DMark 2003. We think that the issue may be something more than a system builder who overclocked too far. We are in the process of nailing down the issue and will report what we see when things calm down around here in a few weeks.
