GameStop Accidentally Sold Far Cry 1, 2 and 3 for $8
Around this time of year, crazy deals are not unusual. However, when GameStop accidentally offered all three Far Cry titles for $8? Well, that kind of deal is insane. Pocket-Lint reports that the retailer yesterday listed Far Cry 3, along with the original Far Cry and Far Cry 2, for less than ten bucks. The retailer was selling its Far Cry Complete Pack, normally priced at nearly $90, for $7.99.
The deal itself was pretty unbelievable, but the fact that GameStop was reportedly allowing anyone to buy, regardless of their location, made it even more so. Unfortunately, deals like this don't often last very long. The price went back up to the original price pretty quickly.
GameStop has yet to explain what happened. However, given the deal's sudden disappearance, it's looking more and more like this was a price error as opposed to a legitimate deal. That said, there hasn't been any mention of GameStop canceling orders or not honouring the price for those who managed to get while the getting was good. Did you snag this deal? sliem What! Oh well I already have them. Enjoyed FC1 and enjoying FC3. Never spent more than 5 in FC2 due to other games.Reply -
A Bad Day Several years ago, Dell accidentally priced their monitors too low on a website for Taiwan.Reply
By the time Dell noticed the mistake, they already lost about $150 million. Some of the customers even bought multiple monitors.
When Dell canceled the orders and said that they made a pricing error, the Taiwanese customers filed lawsuits and won. -
hakesterman That's Ok, they suck Millions and Millions and millions more of extra dollars every month from theirReply
customers. Too bad they didn't throw in a Xbox360 or PS3 to sweetin the deal.

twelve25 They don't "suck" millions from their customers. They make an agreement with their customers to trade money for games. That's a free market where both sides benefit (or they wouldn't make the transaction).Reply

it basically amounts to taking advantage of the stupidity of other people who don't know how to list a game on eBay and ship it for 20 dollars more than they'd get from gaystop.
Either way, I bet somebody got canned for this stunt. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a disgruntled (ex) employee who slipped this deal in so his buddies could pick up a few copies of the FC trilogy. -
