AMD has released its 13.10 Beta2 driver, and Nvidia has released its 331.40 Beta driver, both with optimizations for the Battlefield 4 beta.
Both AMD and Nvidia have released new graphics drivers, with AMD releasing a Beta2 driver and Nvidia releasing a Beta driver.
The release notes below apply to the 13.10 Beta2 driver from AMD:
- AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta2 includes all of the features/fixes found in AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta
- Includes a 32-bit single GPU, and an AMD Crossfire game profile for Battlefield 4
- Total War: Rome 2 AMD CrossFire profile update
- AMD CrossFire frame pacing improvements for CPU-bound applications
- Resolves image corruption seen in Autodesk Inventor 2014
- Resolves intermittent black screen when resuming from an S3/S4 sleep-state if the display is unplugged during the sleep-state on systems supporting AMD Enduro technology
- Updated AMD Enduro technology application profiles for AMD Radeon HD notebook users
Profile Highlights:
- Total War: Rome 2
- Battlefield 4
- Saints Row 4

The Nvidia driver has a couple more new features. The driver is called a 'must' for owners of Nvidia graphics cards who will be playing the Battlefield 4 Beta. Preliminary beta benchmarks are out:
Its not just the mobility drivers, I get black screens with their desktop drivers.
this is refrence to NVidia making metro LL suck on AMD cards btw not the other way around
If you turn the top antialiasing option to low, turn the ones below to off, post processing to off, and ambient occlusion to off, the stuttering goes away.
I'm thinking it has to do with particle effects and the AA/AO.. just a guess, but the fog and smoke was the only thing that REALLY ticked off my setup. ((2)gtx570's oc'd in sli w/i7-2600k@4.8)
But of course this is all besides the 'direct x device hung because of your crappy code' error
There appears to be an issue with Nvidia cards when tabbing out of the game. Are you running the beta drivers on both systems?
