FAQs

Can I stack multiple SCUF promo codes at checkout?

No, SCUF Gaming only allows for one promo code per order. You cannot stack a student discount with a creator code, nor can you stack a promo code on top of a site-wide Black Friday markdown.

We highly recommend testing the codes listed on this Tom's Hardware page to ensure you apply the one that gives the largest total discount.

How much is shipping at SCUF Gaming?

SCUF Gaming does not have a single flat-rate shipping fee. Because they ship highly customised, made-to-order controllers, the price is calculated at checkout.

Why is shipping so long?

If you customised a controller using the online builder, your shipping date will be longer because of the labor required to build it. Custom controllers require individual technicians to assemble the specific paddle configurations, snap in the OMRON switches, and apply the exact cosmetic faceplates you requested, followed by a quality assurance testing phase.

This usually takes 1 to 2 weeks before it goes to the courier. If you need a controller sooner, you should buy a Pre-Configured model, which is already boxed in the warehouse and ships almost immediately.

I just placed a custom order but changed my mind. Can I cancel it?

Yes, but you must be incredibly fast. Because custom controllers enter the factory build queue shortly after checkout, SCUF generally only allows you to cancel or modify your order within a very strict, short grace period before the build begins.

Once the controller enters the building phase in their system, you can no longer modify the order and will have to wait for it to arrive to start a standard return, which comes with a 15% restocking fee.

What is the polling rate of a SCUF controller?

For competitive PC gaming, polling rate (how often the controller reports inputs to your system) is crucial. The PC-specific SCUF Envision and Envision Pro have a 500Hz polling rate when connected to your rig via USB. This means it reads an input every 2 milliseconds, providing a highly responsive, ultra-low-latency experience made for competitive shooters.

Do SCUF controllers suffer from stick drift?

Stick drift has historically been a major pain point for all standard gamepads that use carbon-based potentiometers. I myself have lost many a duel in Gears of War thanks to a controller with stick drift.

To combat this, SCUF's latest premium models, such as the SCUF Valor Pro, have Hall Effect or TMR sensor technology.

Are SCUF controllers compatible with Corsair iCUE?

Yes! Because SCUF Gaming is part of the Corsair ecosystem, their PC controllers, specifically the SCUF Envision line, were built from the ground up for seamless integration with Corsair’s iCUE software.

Are SCUF thumbsticks replaceable?

Yes. SCUF controllers feature a highly modular, builder-friendly design. You can easily lift off the magnetic faceplate and swap out the thumbsticks.

SCUF offers replacement sticks in various heights, short for quick movement, tall for precision aiming, and shapes such as domed or concave, allowing you to physically tune the controller to match your exact grip style without needing to buy a completely new unit.

SCUF Saving Tips

Military Discount: SCUF Gaming quietly offers a dedicated discount for service members, but it isn't plastered on their homepage. According to SCUF’s official customer support FAQs, active military personnel and veterans can automatically get 5% off their entire order by entering the promo code Military5 at checkout.

Student Discount: Are you a student? SCUF partners with Student Beans and UNiDAYS. By logging into your student portal and verifying your .edu email address, you can get a single-use SCUF promo code that typically gives an exclusive 5% to 15% off your order.

Use Creator Codes: If we don't have any codes above, and If you don't qualify for the military discount or a student discount, you still never have to pay full price. SCUF sponsors hundreds of massive esports organizations and Twitch streamers. Their Creator Codes are usually active 365 days a year.

By typing in a creator's vanity code at checkout (for example, OPTIC for OpTic Texas or COURAGE for CouRageJD), you will get a 5% discount on your custom build or pre-configured controller.

Buy Pre-Configured to Avoid Customization & Restocking Fees: Building a controller from scratch using the SCUF configurator is fun, but every upgrade like faceplates or colored ring locks adds to the price. Also custom-built controllers carry a strict 15% restocking fee if you decide to return them, buying a pre-configured controller avoids the restocking fee in case you return it.

Shop the Refurbished Section: SCUF’s official Refurbished program is a big money saver. When you buy a refurbished SCUF controller, the company guarantees that all external components like the shell, faceplate, thumbsticks, and grips, are 100% brand new. Only the internal motherboard is refurbished. They also still come with a 90-day warranty, and just like pre-configured models, refurbished controllers have no restocking fee if returned within the 30-day window.

Skip the Expedited Upsell: When checking out with a custom controller, SCUF will often offer a "Premium" or "Expedited" processing tier, charging you an extra $20 to $40 to bump your build to the front of the factory queue. If you aren't in a rush stick to Standard. The controllers are assembled by the exact same technicians with the exact same parts; you are simply paying a big premium to skip the line.

Corsair Cross-Sales: Because SCUF is owned by Corsair, their sales often align with eachother with the other brands in their ecosystem. If you are a streamer looking to buy an Elgato Stream Deck, Corsair DDR5 RAM, and a SCUF Envision Pro controller, wait for major Corsair ecosystem sales like their "Corsair Days" or Black Friday sales.

How we source coupon codes

Tom’s Hardware has a coupons team dedicated to finding the latest and best codes for each of our pages. Through partnerships with retailers, our affiliate networks, and searching the web, we find the most recent ways to save on online orders, including any exclusive codes our commercial team negotiates. We then upload the latest codes & promotions to our pages, refreshing them twice a week.

How we test coupon codes

Our dedicated coupons team tests each code before they’re uploaded to our pages to ensure they will be accepted at the checkout. Coupons can include the likes of free shipping, student discounts, multibuy offers and more, and you’ll find applicable codes for products & services across all categories. However, we don’t list any one-time use or user-specific codes - this is to make sure each code is available for everyone who visits our site to use

For the sake of clarity, we also include key information about each coupon, such as expiry dates and any terms & conditions, on the page. We update this information whenever we become aware of any changes, with each page updated twice a week. You can read the terms & conditions for an offer by looking for the corresponding text and clicking it to expand the terms section. This text can be found near the ‘Get Code’ button.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Despite our team regularly refreshing our pages and testing every code before upload, every now and then a coupon may not work as intended. Retailers can change expiry dates or terms & conditions before pages can be updated, offers can expire, or a coupon can no longer be accepted. If you have any issues using one of our codes, our team is on hand to help.

It’s always best to start by double-checking a code’s terms & conditions to make sure your order meets the requirements. Click “View terms and conditions” to expand the code section. Here you’ll find all available information on your chosen offer. Discounts may be product-specific (i.e. 10% off PC cases), have an associated minimum order value (i.e. spend $30 or more), or require verification (i.e. register with a valid student or workplace email address).

If you comply with all listed requirements and your discount is still not being applied, send an email to our team at coupons.tomshardware@futurenet.com and we can help. Let us know which code you are trying to use and which page it’s listed on, and customer support will reply as soon as possible to assist.

How we make money

Tom’s Hardware earns money from coupon pages on a commission basis. For every coupon page on our site, we have negotiated a deal with that retailer. Whenever someone places an order with that brand and applies one of our codes to their cart, we earn a percentage of the final order total back in commission.

The good news? This means that we offer our codes without charging any fees. Redeeming a discount listed on Tom’s Hardware is always free - all you will need to pay is a discounted price for whatever items you want to buy.

About SCUF Gaming

Founded in 2011, SCUF Gaming changed the controller market by introducing the first gamepads with rear paddle inputs, a hardware innovation that permanently changed how competitive games are played. With over 135 granted patents, SCUF’s deep focus on modular upgrades, ergonomics, and performance made them the controller of choice for the vast majority of professional esports athletes, such as Seth "Scump" Abner and James "Clayster" Eubanks, arguably two of the best Call of Duty players there are. Speaking of Call of Duty, SCUF is the official controller of the Call of Duty League.

In late 2019, SCUF Gaming was bought by PC hardware giant Corsair and joined its gaming and content creator ecosystem alongside Elgato and Origin PC.

Today, SCUF doesn't just cater to PlayStation and Xbox users; it also builds dedicated hardware specifically for PC. While standard first-party gamepads offer a one-size-fits-all experience, SCUF controllers are engineered to the same extent as high-end mechanical keyboards and precision mice. Their flagship PC controller, the SCUF Envision Pro, is built from the ground up for PC gamers, featuring ultra-responsive OMRON mechanical switches, five programmable G-Keys, and seamless integration with Corsair’s iCUE software for deep macro mapping and RGB synchronisation.

Across their lineup, which includes the PS5-compatible Reflex and the Xbox-focused Valor, SCUF focuses on the metrics that matter most polling rates, zero-latency wireless connectivity, adjustable mouse-click actuation triggers, and anti-drift Hall Effect or TMR thumbsticks.

Because SCUF packs its hardware with pro-grade switches, modular thumbsticks, and highly customised magnetic faceplates, building your ultimate controller can come with a premium price. That is why our Tom's Hardware deal experts regularly update this page with the latest SCUF Gaming promo codes, seasonal sales, and bundle deals, so you can upgrade your setup without draining your bank account.
