The data transfer rates of the Disk Station DS408 are very good; it only showed weakness in tests with many small files. As you can see from the images, using the DS408 in the RAID 1 configuration is not a good choice. When operating the Disk Station in RAID 5 mode it almost reaches the performance of a fast RAID 0 configuration.
