CES 2007: A floating iPod sound system for your swimming pool
Pre CES 2007 coverage - Las Vegas (NV) - Atlantic has a new idea how to make an iPod more useful in the outdoor world. The company will introduce the "Ego Waterproof Sound Case" at the Consumer Electronics Show - essentially a waterproof sound system with speakers and a cable that connects to the 4th and 5th photo and video iPods as well as the iPod Mini and Nano.
The manufacturer says that the case is waterproof and rugged enough so that users can not only use it in the shower, but even throw it into the swimming pool, where it will float on the water surface. Protecting the iPod from water, the case also has waterproof speakers and sealed base venting ports. Powered by four AA batteries, the Sound Case plays music or videos continuously for 30 hours, Atlantic said. The device is available now for a suggested retail price of $200 (without iPod).
