Performance Per Watt And Performance Summary
Performance Summary
The performance summary was created using the throughput results, PCMark Vantage results, and I/O performance—throughput is weighted at 50%, the others at 25%. You can clearly see that Seagate’s new Momentus 7200.4 dominates the notebook drives thanks to its faster spindle speed. Apart from this drive, the differences are small. WD’s Scorpio Blue and the Momentus 5400.6 by Seagate are second and third, while the others follow closely. The Samsung HM500LI is out of competition, as it is still based on a three-platter design—the new two-platter HM500JI will be available soon.
