The photos had been created in an RGB profile, so we first activated this profile on the printer via the fifth tab [Color Management] in the properties. It made no difference at all.
But when we used the ColorMatch RGB profile, we found that image conversion by Photoshop via Image > Mode > Convert profile > ColorMatch RGB gave more highly contrasted photos closer to the originals, especially in black and white.
