Sapphire Does 3D Gaming with Eyefinity

Sapphire demonstrated the following set up, which combines a single Sapphire video card with ATI Eyefinity support, three Zalmon Trimon 3D displays and a third party 3D driver from iZ3D. The result is a 5760 x 1080 display area of eye-popping 3D. Yes, you still have to wear the goofy glasses.

While Sapphire was full of talk about how smooth everything runs, the company remained quiet on just how much you could expect to pay for a set-up like this. Being perfectly honest, we're not sure how we feel about it. It's still early days for 3D technology and we all know from going to see 3D movies that things can look a little off when if you're at an awkward angle.

Agreed but since this looks like PC gaming in mind, we all know PC gamers sit in a very select area while gaming.

I don't read every tech site known to mankind, so this is new to me, and probably others.

What's the point of complaining anyway?

I still don't understand what the big deal about 3D is lately, in games, TV, and movies. Am I the only one left that prefers 2D?

this 3D crap is all cool & all but if you have to wear silly looking glasses to play a game or watch TV then instant fail. This reminds me of those old pictures from the 50's with people wearing those dorky glasses in the theaters. Also if this is the new 3D revolution what have we been using for the past 15 years in our games they called that 3D as well. Will the 3D in all those games be demoted to 2.5D to make room for this newly invented tech that came out in the 50's.

    Just some thoughts

    -That is all-

Yeah I hate wearing glasses over my glasses. /sigh

With that said, I did try Nvidia's 3d tech at the last Blizzcon and I can say that it's neat, but I wouldn't spend the money on it.
