Cooler Master Launches the CM 690 III Enclosure

The CM 690 III is the newest revision to Cooler Master’s established series of mid-tower enclosures and aims to be “an icon redefined.”

Cooler Master has launched the latest revision to its range of CM 690 mid-tower enclosures with the CM 690 III (CMS-693-KKN1/KWN1) that aims to retain the distinctive curved metal exterior while offering a completely updated and improved interior. The CM 690 III supports a maximum of ATX-sized motherboards, 7 + 1 expansion slots, and adjustable tool free cages in which up to three 5.25-inch and seven 3.5-inch / 2.5-inch drives can be mounted.

The enclosure also offers provisions to mount an additional three 2.5-inch drives (one under the ODD cage, one behind the motherboard tray, and one at the bottom) and features two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and HD Audio connectors on the front I/O panel.

With regards to cooling, the chassis can house CPU coolers of up to 171 mm in height, two 240 mm liquid cooling radiators, and up to nine cooling fans (maximum of two on top, three on front, two on side, one rear, one on HDD cage) including three optional 200 mm fans for “ultimate airflow.”

The Cooler Master CM 690 III will be on sale in August in one color, “Midnight Black,” at a currently undetermined price.

    Hope they test it for vibrations before selling.
    Mine vibrates and makes loud racket under resonance. LEDs on front fan went out in just 4 months. CPU power cable coming from their own PSU can't make it through clamp system. And if I had put a mammoth graphics card like 7990 the cable wouldn't have made it to the socket. lol. Front power and hdd leds were super bright and could lit a dark room, I had to lower it by putting pieces of paper in front of them. System runs more silent and 10 degrees cooler if I remove both side panels.

    This was my first gaming case and it let me down completely. I have faced fewer issues with 15$ case.

    I, personally, would like to see a slightly larger HAF XB case that accommodates extended ATX boards and PSUs that are up to 7.9" long.

    Great Mid-tower - to those complaining of 'case vibration' - perhaps you should take another look at the quality of your assembly, or of the fans you installed. Cases don't vibrate on their own. And no, this case is no better than the Corsair Carbide - it's just as good at 80% of the price.
