Report: HTC to Announce 1080p Droid Device Next Week

HTC and Verizon has confirmed that they'll be unveiling their next smartphone on November 13, which is widely believed to be the Droid DNA.

On November 13 in NYC at 11 a.m. EST, the smartphone maker and U.S. carrier will be showcasing the powerful 5-inch 1080p quad-core smartphone.

The rumored handset is said to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and feature a 1920 x 1080-pixel HD display, accompanied by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz processor and Adreno 320 GPU.

HTC's Droid DNA also apparently delivers 440 PPI inside an SLCD 3 display. 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8 or 12 megapixel camera and a 2,500 mAh battery rounds off the rumored features of the smartphone.

Previously thought to be the Droid Incredible X, DIX, or DLX, the Droid DNA was recently showcased in a leaked image. A leaked Verizon document, meanwhile, confirms a release date of November 20.

I thought motorola paid george lucas a bunch of money so they could use the term "droid", and that they would be the only manufacturer selling phones branded as "droids". I've always hated when people would refer to any android smartphone as a "droid".

That being said, 1080p on a 5" screen might be overkill, but im really excited to see it in person.

Yeah, it's CDMA; however, Virgin Mobile will only let you use the phones listed on their website.
I use it because it's non-contract, unlimited data (Full speed up to 2.5 GB), and unlimited text.
    It costs $35 a month.
Only get 300 minutes of calling though. And service isn't that great. Uses the Sprint Network.

Verizon has the best coverage in my area, T-Mobile and AT&T's networks are kinda sketchy. About the same as Sprint's.

I know you said ATT's network sucks where you are, but if you only need better service at your house, you can always get a microcell, and have someone you know with ATT just add it to their account (no cost or hassle to them at all except the initial add)

Then youll have have a MUCH better selection of phones to choose from, and the nexus 4 just came out for only $300-350

Doubtful. I've got an SIII and with its 720 res screen it doesn't studder at all. With the improved graphics of the S4 pro (the adreno 320) it should play android games just fine. Even the most graphics heavy games on android/ios are easy to run by pc standards. Let's face it, it's going to be a good amount of years before phone games catch up to true console games and not just the arcade games for systems.
