ViewSonic Intros New Ultra-Fast 3D LED Display
ViewSonic has released a 23-inch LED-lit monitor packed with polarized glasses and clip-on polarized lenses.
Looking for a new 3D-capable monitor? ViewSonic announced on Monday the V3D231 23-inch LED-lit LCD monitor with an ultra-fast 2ms video response time, a native 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution and a 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. However it doesn't come cheap, costing over three hundred bucks at participating local retailers.
"The V3D231 is the perfect 3D monitor for consumers in search of hi-def entertainment in a true 3D format," said Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing manager, ViewSonic. "Due to its Frame Patterned Retarder technology, the V3D231 enables consumers to view amazing 3D images without the need for expensive 3D glasses."
According to the company, the display comes packed with a pair of (nerdy) polarized glasses and a pair of clip-on polarized lenses. It also offers integrated SRS Premium Sound, VGA, DVI-D and HDMI 1.4a inputs, and the TriDef 3D software suite for converting and viewing 2D PC images "in life-like 3D."
"By putting polarized 3D glasses and access to 3D content in consumers' hands, ViewSonic is broadening the reach of 3D entertainment for 3D gaming, movies and education at a competitive price point," Willey added.
The V3D231 comes with ViewSonic's "strongest pixel performance guarantee" and 3-year limited warranty. It's available now across North America for $349.

Edited: Google search shows some for that much from sites never even heard of but their affiliates are selling it ~$100 more. Hmm -
mergatroid I highly doubt this monitor is 2ms considering how much manufacturers fudge their specs these days. Same with their "dynamic" contrast ratio. What a joke, so many companies will make their LCDs change brightness depending on what's in the video. Nothing like seeing the space scenes in your favorite scifi or the dark scenes in your favorite horror movie getting brighter and darker. Talk about annoying. Most of them don't provide any way to shut it off either. It's high time the governments forces these companies to stop BSing about their display specs. As it is now, specs mean nothing since you can't rely on them at all.Reply

This is not only for "3d" use, but alot of people buy it for the fast response, after you game on a 120hz monitor you can't go back to the choppy 60hz standart with lots of annoying ghosting. -

This monitor doesn't do 120hz. You could get 60hz gaming at 720p, or 24hz at 1080p. I have found that 3D gaming at 1080p24hz sucks. With v-sync, the games will run at 24fps (sucks). Without v-sync, the tearing completely disrupts the 3D experience (sucks). So that leaves you with 60hz at 720p to get the nominal 60fps.
If you have AMD graphics, then this is a decent option for experiencing 3D. -

Dude, he meant to say that if you turn off the 3D feature, it comes as a nice hyperfast LCD screen for playing games without ghosting. Shame that all of these "3D" LCDs are with TN panels......
