Last week Lenovo introduced a number of new products including a 10.1 inch tablet called the Miix. The launch saw a total of six devices in all spanning tablets to touch-based notebooks to Ultrabooks starting at $429 this summer.
For starters, the 10.1 inch Windows 8-based Miix tablet will sport a dual-core Intel Atom SoC and a "quick-flip" detachable folio case with an integrated AccuTyper keyboard, allowing the user to instantly switch between PC mode and tablet mode. Other features will include an IPS display sporting a 1366 x 768 resolution, up to 64 GB of internal storage, an SD card slot for 32 GB of extra storage, and a battery that boasts up to 10 hours of battery life.
Lenovo said the tablet will be extremely light, weighing a mere 1.2 pounds and measure just 0.4 inches thin. It will also include integrated Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi connectivity (likely Wireless N) and optional 3G-GPS connectivity. Unfortunately, the company didn't provide additional specs, but the device is due this summer with a starting price of approximately $500.
Next up is Lenovo's S Series laptops which will be injected with three new touch-based solutions, the S400 Touch, S500 Touch and S210 Touch, costing approximately $449, $579 and $429 respectively later this summer. The IdeaPad S400 and S500 can be configured with up to third-generation Intel Core i5 processors and optional discrete graphics. The IdeaPad S210 will be equipped with up to third generation Intel Core i3 processors. Nope, no Haswell here.
All three devices will also offer Dolby Advance Audio v2 certification as well as Lenovo Companion, Lenovo Support, Lenovo Cloud and OneKey Recovery applications, the last of which will make data backup and recovery rather simple. The S400 and S500 will come with 14-inch and 15.6-inch HD widescreen displays respectively while the S210 will sport an 11.6-inch HD widescreen display. All three will have a tactile metallic finish and a thin and light frame.
Finally there's the IdeaPad U series Ultrabooks which now includes the U330 Touch and U430 Touch. Starting from only 0.77 inches thin, Lenovo said they can be as thin as a smartphone, but offer up advanced features like motion control, voice control, a multi-touch touchpad and a 10-point capacitive multi-touch screen. So touchy.
The new Ultrabooks can be configured with up to a fourth-generation Intel Core i7 "Haswell" processor plus optional Nvidia GeForce graphics. They can also be configured with storage up to 1 TB HDD with 16 GB SSD or 500 GB SSHD with integrated 16 GB NAND flash or 256 GB SSD storage. The U330 Touch will come with a 13.3-inch HD or FHD display and the U430 Touch with a 14-inch HD+ or FHD display.
Slated to launch this summer, the IdeaPad U330 will cost approximately $799 and the IdeaPad U430 will cost approximately $899. Both will be packed into a metal frame that still stays light at as little as 3.7 pounds, Lenovo said.
