Pantech's 5-Inch 1080p Quad-Core Smartphone Leaks

According to purported leaked technical specs of the unannounced device, Pantech could introduce a 5-inch 1080p HD smartphone at CES 2013. Outed by a a Wi-Fi Alliance certificate, the Pantech handset is called the Vega IM-A860. The document says the handset will sport a 1,920x1,080-pixel full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor accompanied by an Adreno 320 GPU, as well as support for 4G LTE.

Last year, the South Korean manufacturer launched the budget-priced Burst for AT&T. AT&T or Verizon could be the carrier chosen for the Vega IM-A860 due to Pantech's relationship with both U.S. carriers.

Full HD smartphones have started to appear more frequently in the market, which has been spearheaded by HTC via the J Butterfly (known as the Deluxe internationally), in addition to the Droid DNA. Devices such as the Butterfly boast 440ppi (pixel-per inch), while the iPhone 5's Retina display has a ppi of 326.
