Alienware Offers Two Steam Machines For Purchase Before November 10 Release

In less than a month, the pre-orders for the Steam hardware's "Get It Early" program sold out. Among the pre-order items available were a handful of Steam Machines from Alienware and Syber. However, it seems that Alienware has more Steam Machines available for purchase before the official release date of November 10.

Technically, the company has four models available: two with an Intel Core i3 processor, and one each for an Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 processor. For the limited sale, Alienware is offering the Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 models at $649.99 and $749.99, respectively.

To sweeten the deal, both packages include three games: Screencheat, Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball, and Payday 2 Game of the Year Edition. For now, Payday 2 doesn't support SteamOS, but that will change in early 2016. In addition, customers will receive DLC for two free-to-play games: Brawlhalla and War Thunder. For Brawlhalla, the DLC includes 200 Mammoth Coins and a branded skin, while War Thunder content includes the M18 Black Cat tank and the XP-38G Lightning Plane. To top it all off, there's also an exclusive demo for the upcoming game Coffin Dodgers. All in all, Alienware estimated the extra add-ons at a $200 value.

As for the two Intel Core i3 models, those won't be available for purchase again until November 10. In terms of graphics, all of Alienware's Steam Machines use a custom-built Nvidia GeForce GPU. Syber also has three models available in November, but compared to Alienware's low-tier package, which starts at $449.99, Syber's prices start $50 more at $499.99.

So $50 cheaper than the Windows version with a so called $200 worth of add ons (which are of absolutely no value to me whatsoever).

IMO its typical overpriced Alienware/Dell product.

With that weak GPU and no Windows license those things should be at least $100 cheaper.

A full desktop i7, with an 860m? Yep, sounds like a prebuilt - not to mention Alienware - to me!

$50 is actually more than Windows costs Dell so I don't know why you're upset. They even offer the same system with Windows, so all you're really complaining about is them giving people a choice of OS.

so if it just has steam OS on it will it support all games on steam or is it like the mac and Linux clients where some games are not supported?

It definitely seems Alienware has lost something since the Dell purchase.

It looks a bit less dusty. And great disclosure of the GPU. Nvidia GeForce GTX GPU (2 GB GDDR5) makes a lot of sense :P

Hey the MS Notebook has a Nvidia 1GB eGPU under the detachable keyboard for an additional $200. That is all the description on it and I commented on that an was attacked by the MS protection squad, lol.

$750 for a completely weak machine. I'll stick with my I7 4790k, 970sli, and 32gigs of ram and like it

where the alieware alpha excels at is the base i3 model for $399.. That's a lot of computer for $399. Try building a small form factor NUC for that price,, and the NUC won't have a good GPU

The benefit of paying the $50 extra to have Windows is that the other 75% of your games collection will actually work
