In September, UK supermarket Tesco launched an own-brand Android tablet called Hudl. Priced at £119, the tablet competes directly with Amazon's Kindle Fire and Google's own Nexus 7. Now, just a few weeks away from the Hudl's launch, there's a new kid on the block, and this one is even cheaper than the already competitively priced Hudl.
The tablet is dubbed MyTablet and is from Argos. Crave reports that the tablet packs a 7-inch 1024 x 600 LCD, a dual-core 1.6 GHz CPU, 8 GB of integrated storage (with microSD support for storage expansion), support for HDMI, and WiFi. The battery life is apparently five hours. It's made by Argos' Bush technology brand and comes pre-loaded with 19 applications including popular favorites like iPlayer and Angry Birds. In comparison, Tesco's Hudl tablet packs a 7-inch 1440 x 900 display, runs on a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU and features 16 GB of storage, a microSD slot, WiFi, speakers, a 3-megapixel camera, and a battery that lasts nine hours.
Argos' MyTablet will go on sale Wednesday, October 16, and will cost £100.
