Intel Launching Live Software Network TV

Not digging what’s on TV these days? What if there was a channel that was dedicated to Intel and you didn’t even have to leave your computer to watch it?

Intel will be going live on air with its Intel Software Network TV on June 9. Intel promises that viewers will be able to watch live and on-demand episodes of Intel Software Network shows, see live event coverage, and take a look “behind the scenes.”

If you’d prefer to be in charge of your own viewing experience, there’s also an on-demand section where you can select what’d like to see. You can also participate in the live chat next to the video feed.

Starting at 8 a.m. on June 9, Intel will be broadcasting the following programs:

  • Parallel Programming Talk: Aaron Tersteeg talks to David Patterson, professor of computer science at UC Berkeley, about the challenges in parallel programming today and making it easier for software developers.
  • Teach Parallel: Paul Steinberg, community manager in the Intel Academic Community, talks to special guest Kay Winous from Earlham College.
  • Visual This! Catch a walk-through of the new artist/animator community with Steve Pitzel, community manager, Visual Computing Community.
  • Special Chat on Moblin 2.0 Beta: Featuring David Stewart, Black Belt Intel employee and manager of the Open Source Product Engineering Team.
  • Welcome Sessions with Josh Bancroft: Josh has a few surprise guests lined up—tune in to know more!

All in all, pretty techie stuff. Will you be tuning in?

I wonder if "Extreme Cooler Makeover" and "i7 and x58 plus eight threads" will be on after work...

Sounds interesting, but in all honesty, a great way to help me sleep at night...

    No, I won't watch it.

I'm looking forward to "Extreme Makeover" where Intel guys run up to people and replace there AMD rig with an Intel rig. The current show motto will be "Its not the Ghz, its whats inside that matters."

  • Would be nice if a link was included so we could know WHERE to plug in.
Intel's website itself is a haywire of links and sublinks.

  • It sounds like any number of Microsoft/MSDN resources, except more of a thinly-veiled advertisement for Intel than an actual learning resource....
