Google has yet to confirm the Nexus 5's existence in any official capacity but it looks like we could see the phone before the end of the week. The latest leak points to a white version of the new Nexus handset launching this coming Friday, November 1.
The leak stems from the photo below, which was tweeted by the @evleaks Twitter account. The picture shows a white version of the device we've come to recognize (from FCC documents and other leaks) as the upcoming Nexus 5. The caption tweeted alongside the photo says, "Coming 11/1." @evleaks today tweeted the second image, which it was sent by someone with access to the system at a big box retailer.
Last week the Nexus 5 appeared briefly in the Google Play store. Previous reports have mentioned a screen measuring five inches as well as talk of a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM and, of course, Android KitKat. Thanks to leaked specs from earlier this month, we now know that the Nexus 5 will pack a 4.95-inch 1,920 x 1,080 IPS display, the aforementioned quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor (clocked to 2.3GHz), 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with a 1.3-megapixel lens up front, the same OIS present on LG's G2, a 2300mAh battery, up to 32 GB of storage, and support for CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, and LTE. Rumors this month pointed to an October 28 unveiling, which is today, so it doesn't look like that will be happening. Given the phone has yet to be announced, we'd be surprised to see the white model released on Friday.
