Roccat Debuts "Knife-Edge Thin" Siru Gaming Mousepad

Roccat has introduced a new mousepad, and this one is a little different from products that it may have released in the past in that it is rather thin.

The mousepad, which is to be known as the Roccat Siru, is less than one millimeter thick. Scratch that, under half a millimeter thick, at just 0.45 mm. Beyond that, the mousepad features a highly sticky bottom, and has been tested for compatibility with over 80 different optical- and laser-based mice.

"At 340 x 250 x 0.45 mm, the Siru is truly knife-edge thin. The benefit of having such a blade-like gaming surface is that your mouse is on exactly the same level as your desktop, and you're provided with direct desktop feedback. This means exceptionally true and precise tracking, and the ability to make rapid, accurate cursor corrections – perfect when aim is the name of the game."

The Roccat Siru should be arriving at stores shortly, and will be available in two different colors: Pitch Black and Cryptic Blue. No word on U.S. pricing, but EU pricing is set at €14.99 including VAT.

Lol, what the hell is direct desktop feedback? Some sort of new tech no one has heard about? /s. Seriously, any other gaming mousepad is fine even with being "thicker". As long as it's durable and comfortable to use, then I'm fine with that but all this thinness crap is really just so much marketing bs. Who cares if you got a 0.45mm mousepad, it's not a huge deal vs thinness in a cell phone or going from those stone aged tv's to our modern thin ones.

They mean you should just use no mat and directly on desktop. 100% feedback.

I bought a Razor Sphex mat which is similar, and it's great, but the sticky back, which is supposed to allow you to remove and re stick again and again on any surface, stuck to my desk and pulled off top layer of finish. Don't bother buying these products folks.

They are copying the Razor Sphex I believe. I had a Razor Sphex and it was utter rubbish for me, so I swapped it out for a Roccat Taito and have been fine ever since.

That's exactly what I do on my wooden desk, but I can't properly use my mouse without a mat on my glass one.I can imagine a thin mat to be more comfortable than a thick one, but...

... sounds like your average PR bullshit.

This is the most retarded thing I have heard this month. It has reached the point that I refuse to buy any product that has gaming in the title.

I was always too cheap to buy a mouse pad, but the benefits are unbelievable the jumping headshots that become possible in fps games are well worth it

I tend not to like these, as you peel them up once, and they may never stick back down properly again.
