(DTM) Race Driver 2
We tested using version 1.2 of the game. The test consisted of a pre-recorded replay of a DTM race with rain on the Nürburgring using the chase view. Once again, the framerate was measured using FRAPS. Maximum quality settings (Very High).
Race Driver 2, or the "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" game, seems to cause the NVIDIA cards quite a bit of trouble. We can see the GeForce 6800 GT comes in behind the GeForce 6600 GT, which in turn clearly trails the X700 XT.
(DTM) Race Driver 2 - 8x Aniso
Enabling FSAA results in image corruption in this game. Therefore, anisotropic filtering is the only option for improving image quality.
The X700 XT loses its lead over the GeForce 6600 GT in the higher resolutions. ATi's A.I. optimizations have only a minimal effect in this game.
