Epson Stylus Photo R380
The Epson Stylus Photo R380 adds some interesting features and capabilities to what the R260 brings to the party. It includes a 3.5" color LCD screen so users can preview photos from plug-in cameras, along with a memory card reader to let them also grab photos from such media, without having to turn a computer on (cards supported include Compact Flash, SD, SDHC, Microdrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and MagicGate memory stick.
Using the LCD screen and built-in picture handling without a PC, users can select and print photos from their camera, mobile phone or media. They can also crop, rotate and enlarge those images, print photos in order by date, and create a contact sheet for all images (Epson calls this a "photo index sheet"). Without a PC, users can also work with plain letter sized paper, print 4x6", 5x7", 8x10" or 8.5x11" photos, and even print onto inkjet printable CD and DVD media.
The Epson Stylus Photo R380 features a preview LCD screen at the top center of the front panel.
Otherwise, in terms of resolution, ink colors, cartridges, plain and photo paper handling, and so forth, the R380 is just like the R260 described in the preceding section. At a retail price of around $110, the R380 costs $35 more than the R260. At 15.7 pounds (7.12 kg), the R380 is also somewhat heavier, while its dimensions are identical to those for the R260 given in the preceding section.
The R380 works with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, Me, and 98SE plus Mac OS X 10.3.9 to 10.4.x. An optional Bluetooth photo print adapter is available for this unit.
