Benchmark Results: Crysis And Far Cry 2
Crysis, being the graphics-intensive title that it is, doesn't demonstrate a lot of dependence on processing power until you drop down to the Phenom X3 8750, which dings performance a bit at 1920x1200. Turning on anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering negates that to a degree, again shifting the burden on our single GeForce GTX 280.
Far Cry 2 is known to be less demanding than Crysis, and indeed we see playable frame rates all the way up to 2560x1600. But this doesn't seem to have much to do with the processor in our test platform. This time, Intel's Core i7 920 falters, handicapping performance to below the level of AMD's Phenom X3 8750.
