These are the Free Games EA is Giving Out for SimCity Fiasco

By - Source: RPS

EA's giving away one free game to SimCity purchasers.

After a week of accusations being thrown around that always-online wasn't actually necessary to keep SimCity running, and that it was tacked on merely as DRM, EA's finally trying to make amends by offering up a free game to SimCity buyers.

The eight games up for the offer are the following:

·        Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)

·        Bejeweled 3

·        Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)

·        Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)

·        Medal of Honor: Warfighter (Standard Edition)

·        Need For Speed Most Wanted (Standard Edition)

·        Plants vs. Zombies

·        SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition

To get the most bang for your buck, Dead Space 3 is probably your best bet, since it’s the most recent release and is still going at retail for $60. Alternatively, Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3 aren't bad choices either. Let's not talk even bring Plants vs. Zombies or Medal of Honor: Warfighter to the table.

The offer is even valid for new SimCity buyers until March 25th. However, the game must be redeemed by March 30th, or else the offer will no longer be available. Two games for the price of one? Sounds like a deal…

So, is there any possibility they will scrap the always-online requirement? That is their only hope of getting me to buy Sim City.

It is great to see greedy decisions biting the company in the ass.

Offer only available until March 28th? It seems like they're trying to sweep this offer under the rug before most people even notice it while still being able to claim that they've made amends over this mess.

At this point I wouldn't even want "SimCity 5" if it was the free game, if it means tacit support for EA and Origin.

Well they can keep the free game and just remove the always online requirement for single player. Until then I will not buy. I feel the same way about SimCity as I did Diablo 3 I only play single player and will not buy a game that requires connection to a server for single play game.

I am not going to buy a game that I may not be able to play a few years from now because the server is no longer online. I just do not understand why company's can't understand this. EA had to see the customer feed back when UBI Soft did the same thing and the later backed off some what made EA think that there customers would be OK with this?
