Zotac Has a Cool Borderlands 2-themed PC Rig

Zotac during CES 2013 showed a load of new and current products spanning Mini-PCs, graphics cards and motherboards. The company also had a cool three-screen Borderlands 2 setup in the corner packed with a Z77-ITX WiFi Ivy Bridge-based motherboard, a GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, Corsair memory and an impressive yellow chassis fitting for a Borderlands theme.

For some reason I was drawn to the Nano mini-PCs. They're small but powerful, taking up very little space but cranking out plenty of performance. One of these was the ZBOX nano XS AD11 featuring AMD's E-450 dual-core APU clocked at 1.65 GHz, and Radeon HD 6320 graphics. Measuring just 4.17 x 4.17 x 1.46-inches, it had slots for one DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM stick of memory (up to 8 GB), one mSATA slot (SSD compatible), one HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one combo eSATA/USB 2.0 port, and a 6-in-1 memory card reader.

Also out on display was Zotac's ZBOX nano AD12 based on AMD's E2-1800 dual-core APU clocked at 1.7 GHz and Radeon HD 7340 graphics. The ZBOX ID83 was much larger, measuring 7.40 x 7.40 x 1.73-inches packing Intel components including the Core i3-3120M dual-core CPU clocked at 2.5 GHz, and HD 4000 Graphics. The ZBOX ID42 was a little smaller than the ID83, featuring an Intel Celeron 847 dual-core CPU clocked at 1.1 GHz, and Nvidia GeForce GT 610 graphics.

Zotac's CES 2013 booklet said three unannounced models were also on display, but I didn't see these. This batch included the ZBOX ID89 with an Intel Core i5-3470T dual-core CPU clocked at 2.9 GHz, the ZBOX ID88 with an Intel Core i3-3220T dual-core CPU clocked at 2.8 GHz, and the ZBOX nano XS AD13 with an AMD E2-1800 APU clocked at 1.7 GHz.

As previously mentioned, also on display were a handful of cards and motherboards, as seen in the pics below, along with the Borderlands 2 rig sporting Zotac hardware.

That's my setup right there. LG bluray, ASRock Z77 itx, 7870(instead of a 680) in a podigy case. Mine is just black however. (O o)

I feel tricked for clicking on the link for this article. The design of this supposed "Borderlands 2" themed system is less than impressive. In fact, if the article didn't state that this was a "Borderlands 2" theme, I would've guessed that is was just a shiny yellow case.

Make the machine look like Claptrap and I'll call it "Borderlands 2 themed." Until then, quit with the misleading article titles. Shame on you Kevin.
