Shazam and Rdio Announce Partnership for UK, Canada, More
Partnership aims to help users discover more music.
Last year, music streaming service Rdio teamed up with Shazam to offer users a way to listen to Shazam'd songs for free. The partnership saw a 'Listen Free on Rdio' button added to Shazam, so users tagging a song could then go and listen to the complete track. Today, Rdio expanded this partnership to include the the United Kingdom and several other countries.
Of course, nothing in life is free, so only Rdio Unlimited subscribers will be able to access to full experience immediately. Everyone else will have to make do with a free 14 day trial of the feature. Aside from those in the UK, users in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico will also benefit from this new partnership.
Rdio was created by Skype founders Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis and launched in August of 2010. An Unlimited subscription costs $9.99 per month and offers unlimited streaming via dekstop and mobile. A web-only subscription will set you back $4.99 each month.
